From Group: Images of ALIEN(1979 Movie)
An early idea was to have the alien semi-transparent, but due to time constraints and technological limitations, this eerie aspect of the creature's anatomy was abandoned in favor of the darker-skinned being seen in the finished film. This image of a semi-transparent prototype suit is from Shepperton Design Studios. As beloved as the original alien from the 1979 film is, the semi-transparent look - reminiscent of some species of fish and amphibians - is quite an interesting idea. Certainly there would be a lot to be disturbed by and to speculate upon if its internal organs were on full display to the viewer, for biology often inspires the most unsettling terrors.

So, this guy blocked me so it won't go to him. This is for anyone who sees this later.
This guy was basically being a dick. He could have just blocked the account or went about his business. But he choose to try and shame me for sharing something I found on Facebook.
When I find interesting things like this on Facebook I basically copy and paste the information here, with a link for anyone who wants to go see the original post. This is because this isn't my original content and when I share it I believe it's important to link back to the creator.
I mark these with the tags #Facebook, #FacebookFinds, and #FacebookGroup.
Any one of those tags can be muted. Like the guy about could have.
He chose to be hateful though.
So while this is all going out into the Void, and won't be seen by the dick in question, if you do see this then take a moment to ask.
If you don't want to see these things you don't have to. They are tagged in a way so you can block them.
But you also have a choice about being a dick about it.

From: Daniel Anderson, Sci-fi and Fantasy Author
This is a real, intact human nervous system.
In 1925, two medical students in Kirksville, Missouri were challenged to dissect a cadaver's nervous system, starting from the brain downward, but leaving the entire system in one piece. The process took the students - M.A. Schalck and L.P. Ramsdell - over 1,500 hours. Their "blood, sweat, and tears" produced this extraordinary display, located at the Museum of Osteopathic Medicine at A.T. Still University (ATSU) in Kirksville.
There are only 4 of these in the world.

On May 18, 1980, Richard Lasher shot this epic photo of the eruption of Mount St. Helens. Lasher was forced to abandon his Pinto and flee the giant plume of ash on his motorcycle. Lasher survived, his Pinto did not.

FROM Historical Photographs on Facebook
What 5 megabytes of computer data looked like in 1966: 62,500 punched cards, taking four days to load.
Did you know that there's an official Facebook group for fans of my written works? I've been getting into the habit of posting extra tidbits and early announcements there for the past few months as a fun little "bonus" for its members, so if you're interested in such things, be sure to join the party. It's free if you're a Facebook user!
My latest entry there answers my most frequently-asked question from new readers: "Where should I start?"
