Atari Jaguar news: This year, there is another JagJam and I'm hoping to see some great, creative new titles for the Jaguar again. The deadline for submissions is October, 31st, which gives devs half a year to make something. So if you are looking for a programming challenge or want to support the jam by spreading the word, please feel free to do so! Cheers!

Hey all!

Looking for new games to play. What’s coming out that you’re excited about? Or what’s your current favorite?

I love playing indie games and supporting small devs but I’m open to any suggestions!

Just downloaded the demo for Leila and I’m looking forward to playing it! ☁️🌸🤍

Hello fellow #gamedevs
As I announced last week, the studio I was working for was unfortunately closed and so I find myself again unemployed. I am in no rush to find another job at the moment, so I am going to take a couple of months to work on my own games.

That said, I have already updated my website in case something were to happen and I needed to look for a new position. Could I get some feedback on what my home page currently looks like? Any suggestion is welcome.

This morning I participated in a presentation in Greece celebrating Alexandros Kofteros’ "Computers, Consoles & Video Games" ebook with some other #gamedevs from years ago, hosted at the Cyprus Computer Museum. Free download of the book at mathisis.org/moodle/ and presentation at youtu.be/nAyQHW_gedc with Robert Holmes of Sierra On-Line, and Francois Lionet, creator of STOS BASIC

Here is my top 2024 tip for all self-employed creative folk out there - from #gamedevs to #writers to #musicians

Read/watch/subscribe to creative industry advice from an adjacent industry you're not in

For example, if you are a game dev, train the algorithm to give you marketing tips from indie music world

Most of the advice on marketing and product will be valid BUT the snake oil pitches and scams targeting that industry's insecurities will bounce off you

Merry Christmas!

"Here's a pleasant surprise: For once an emulator is being discontinued, and it's not bad news," writes @wes.readonlymemo.com for his newsletter, @readonlymemo. He discusses how the Lime3DS, which picked up the code from Citra after Nintendo's settlement with Yuzu, is joining forces with another developer to create a new, yet-to-be-named emulator. "No longer will development be fragmented between these forks, and instead all progress will be made in a single coordinated effort," the Lime3DS devs wrote in their latest update." Also in this issue, an update on N64 core developer Robert Peip's emulator work, and a fan translation of Saturn RPG Princess Crown that is proving messy.
