TIL that Boise has on average (historically, mind you) 60-70 days in temperatures ≤ 0 ℃ either in whole or in part whereas Missoula features 100-120. Sounds like the town for me!

I'm putting the "Moving to Montana" on the back shelf because I was window shopping, something between research and daydreaming; I can find what I'm looking for in Idaho after Mother passes. And I'll have three months in which to do it!
Mother is giving the movers their feng shui instructions.
The Italian Couple walked in as we walked out, my Monseir de Fontgibu.
Caught up with my nephew, T-Bone. We discussed Idaho politics (“Sounds like a House Bill”) and neurological improvements (“I’m going to miss this place. It’s where I got my brain back!”).
Initial sort. I cheated and did not take just one book per semi-infinite stack.
Tossed a lot of obvious junk from my old place. Not that I’ll be getting everything into a U-Haul...
Settling in... Evening comes, we're all less cranky. Wi-Fi coffee scale is deployed, Mr. Phrenology is keeping watch, and Danielle is here.
God save me from old woman blither. No, I don’t need the details on the digital clock, much less its instructions. Yes, porcelain, fragile. I got it. My brother is in charge of all things DVR, they give me hives. All remotes look the same to me. Etc.
Disconnected my Internet service. The cord has been cut.
Everybody had been a lot of sleeps, including the cat.
Although the bedroom hasn't been deep-cleaned I'm moving the fold-up bed frame and the futon today. Obviously events have been moved up. Welcome to your new life redux, cats. Remember that nice old lady...?
College Hunks certainly earned their pay today! Above and beyond. And we’ve gotten ye olde Halsey cedar chests out of our hair at long last...!
Power went out last night, albeit only on my block, and that before the thunderstorm ramped out. Took the opportunity to take my freezer's peas and meats to the big freezer in Mom's Garage, empty the book case in what's soon to be my bedroom of crapola, and in general make sure we're on the same railroad we think we're on.
Donating some of Mother's furniture to College Hunks tomorrow. We are proceeding apace, and I'll be moving myself and my cats in sooner rather than later. Especially with Sigma Chud Maga setting up shop down the street.
I put gold stars on the furniture we’re donating and mother threw a hissy-fit. “You’ll mess everything up!” “Mother, this is for my own peace of mind.”

I've begun packing in earnest, which is why I'm sitting here. You know it's serious when the science fiction paperbacks are fitted into liquor boxes such that as little sailboat fuel as possible is included.
Discussing Gurney House, Mother bruited buying a duplex (to generate some income) sooner rather than later. None of the places I have saved on Zillow are ready-made along those lines, but it’s something to think about. Missoula, Billings, and Idaho Falls remain on my radar.
