That sounds quite cool. I'd never consider the idea of a forest having quirks before.

Do you want #TTRPG characters with deep ties to their world? Backstory that directly affects their mechanical traits?
We're down to the last 24 hours of the #Kickstarter for Steps To A Hero: a lifepath character generation system for #DnD #5e!
Thanks to everyone who's already supported the project! #promo #TTRPGResources @kickstarterttrpg
This Wednesday at 4 p.m. EDT I'm leading an #ACESchat on Twitter/X about how to get into copyediting tabletop roleplaying games (TTRPGs). If this sounds interesting, please stop by. I'm hoping that ACES will join Mastodon so we can have #ACESchats on Mastodon. But for now, they're still on Twitter/X.
If you have a question for me but aren't on Twitter, please post it and I'll try to answer it here.
48 hours in, our Kickstarter reached its funding threshold! Thank you to everyone who has supported Steps To A Hero, our #TTRPG #fantasy lifepath character generation system for #DnD #5e! One thing that I've found extremely helpful--but also quite time-consuming--while working on TTRPGs is to list out all of the spells, abilities, traits, skills, etc. into a chart or bulleted list. Often by doing this, I can easily see that there are spells with very similar names that could confuse players (e.g. Dinner's Served, Supper's On, neither of which are real spells). It also lets me see how the author capitalizes and formats similar items.
Has anyone in the #TTRPG world heard of "rattlesnake" in relation to character or enemy abilities? In a game I'm editing, the author mentions that a sniper character has a rattlesnake ability, and unless the sniper has a noisemaker they use before combat, I'm at a loss.
At our D&D session this weekend, our DM went above and beyond when he created an actual one-page newspaper for the town our characters were visiting. He also charged my character 5 silver pieces for it despite the price clearly being listed as only 1 sp!
This was a super creative way for our characters to learn what was going on in town without the DM having to do a monologue.
Thanks for the heads up!
Just to inform you to update your style sheet, as that seems very inline with your helpful post!
#TTRPG and #IndieTTRPG are the generic tags for the domain and subdomain.
I also favour adding #TTRPGResources for information posts like this one.
To boost outside of servers touched by mstdn.social consider using @indiettrpg which autoboosts all mentions of it.
Thanks again!
I just started working on a new RPG manuscript which means creating a new style sheet. Last year I wrote an article for the CIEP: "Levelling up style sheets for role-playing games and fiction." It's about how I customize my style sheets specifically for RPG projects. I hope some of you out there find this helpful.

I found this today:
I am hoping the Dice, Pen & Paper's excellent 52 Fates game is added soon.
