LinkedIn changed how they code their landing page and I needed to adjust my uBlock Origin rules to hide the cluttered up "news" (really, ads) feed they put down the side of the page. If like me you want an uncluttered experience and use uBlock Origin, here's a rule that hides that feed:

#uBlockOrigin #LinkedIn #cruft #clutter #ads

This post is not an invitation to scold me for using LinkedIn or Microsoft products, nor to suggest I leave it or find alternatives.

Are you sure? I don't use browsers that can't run full-fat #uBlockOrigin, and so I can't test this, but the Web page makes it sound pretty useful. I quote:

The default ruleset corresponds to uBlock Origin's default filterset:

  • uBlock Origin's built-in filter lists

  • EasyList

  • EasyPrivacy

  • Peter Lowe’s Ad and tracking server list

@jensimmons

I've created an annoyance filter for the World Wide Web in general (non-Bing though because I already have Bing annoyance filters) that I'm going to put my custom filters in for uBlock Origin going forward. This will have "AI" and non-"AI" filters mixed together and won't be updated as often as the Bing ones, so things might break without me noticing. If that's the case, I've added a message to file an issue for it if one doesn't exist.

Each Gist will be in its own folder and may have a different license applied, but MIT will apply if not otherwise specified.

I've tried so hard to find an alternative browser to Firefox, and on Android in particular I just can't justify it! Extension support (which means uBlock Origin), great performance, not technically dependent on Google (but financially dependent) and I love the reader view, which is vastly superior to the Chromium equivalent. Bottom line, its just better for me, and whilst I'm disappointed with the privacy changes and the AI nonsense its still the best browser for me. #MozillaFirefox #WebBrowsers #uBlockOrigin
