Reading between the lines, the #Tory candidate of #WECA mayor would promote drive-through supermarkets, etc. if he thought he could get away with it.

"Voters appear to be in a restless mood as Labour faces its first electoral test since its landslide general election victory. #ReformUK is surging in the polls and the #LibDems and #Greens are also seeking to capitalise on voters' apparent disenchantment with #Labour and the #Tories in English local elections."
Dear Ms Godwin,

There must be an election coming. My lovely postie is delivering every day!
@HarriettMB I received my polling information for the #WECA mayor yesterday.
I'm disappointed to see the poll has been changed from STV to FPTP.
At least STV ensured the winner got over 50% of the vote.
Thanks, Tories.
Q: Who can I vote for?
A: A #racist Tory, a blue Tory, a red Tory, a green Tory, a yellow Tory and a colourless Tory.

"Brexit campaign donor and now Reform UK candidate Arron Banks stood by his 2017 comments describing Bristol as a “little Somalia.” He then blamed Somalians and Romanians for crime in the city. He also said that the role had very little power and there wasn't much that whoever won could get done."
The only reason Banks can have sex without paying is because he married an east European immigrant.
Bloody hypocrite and #racist.

Six of the best?
Five plus one who has been rejected by a rectal transplant.

"Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has urged the public to "vote for change in your community", as he launched Labour's local election campaign for England."
The only change my community is likely to see is the election of a new Metro Mayor to replace Labour's two jobs (MP and mayor) incumbent, Dan, Dan the Vanity Man Norris.
"Organisers confirmed they had invited Reform candidate Arron Banks and a chair was available for him to sit on, but he did not show up."
@Lassielmr I'm not so sure.
'Lord' Marvin et al. weren't very popular and since then the shitshow of Labour at national level hasn't helped either.
Meanwhile the Greens are coming in for heavy criticism for their running of Bristol.
As for the other local authorities in #WECA, they're usually well to the right of opinion within the city itself.
I wouldn't trust Arron Banks to run a bath, let alone a combined authority.
He's already done enough damage with #Brexit, not to mention hounding Carol Cadwalladr through the courts.
A real nasty piece of work.
The #Bristol area's nastier Banksy returns like a Friday night boomerang curry.
" I know how important arts (and) creative industries are to regenerating an area. And this is a classic instance of how a part of Bristol that for a long time, ignored and forgotten and really struggled, was completely transformed."
It was a solid working-class area before it was *transformed* with trendy bars and overpriced food shops, you muppet.

Dan Dan The Vanity Man gets his priorities right.
"The mayor then interrupted the session to take a phone call, as a delivery driver asked for instructions to deliver a package to his house."

Labour expels S. Gloucs. councillor. He'll stand as a independent candidate for #WECA mayor.
'“I have been a Labour member for over 40 years since joining Bristol East, Brislington East, Labour branch in 1983, having been inspired at a public meeting by my local MP Tony Benn. But I have now lost trust and confidence in the Labour Party and I will leave the Labour Party January 31.”'
