I'm looking at the list of trending posts that my instance knows about — something I can see as a moderator.
The top two are about the European Citizens' Initiative on banning conversion therapy (which gained the necessary number of signatures a couple hours ago but is still gathering more to deal with any disputed signatures and to show overwhelming support). 
And two more of the top ten also deal with the petition. Way to go Mastodon people!
#Sweden is less than 10 signatures short of their national target on this EU petition against #ConversionTherapy.
#Italy is less than 3,000 signatures short (5% of their population).
#Denmark is just over 2,000 signatures short (22%).
#Austria is needs another 5,200 signatures (38%).
The petition closes tomorrow, so the other EU countries seem unlikely to make it at this point, but those ones aren't completely out of reach. Please consider sharing the link if you have followers in the EU.

Autistics: please recall that the inventor of this criminal practice, Ivar Lovaas, is THE SAME PERSON who invented #ABA, the equally criminal scourge of our community. Also recall that autistics are much more likely to be #LGBTQ+ than are neurotypicals, and that gays are a lightning rod for prejudices of many kinds. Even if you personally are cishet (as I am), the enemies of #LGBTQ+ are your enemies too.
The petition is reportedly now within 20,000 votes of the 1,000,000 needed to require the European Commission to consider the ban, but voting ends in less than 48 hours. Please help this important proposal to make it over the top!

My fellow Europeans, in the last few days the Ban Conversion Therapy initiative has gone form ~300,000 to ~700,000 signatures. There is still one day left! If you haven't yet, you can do the right thing by signing now.
