tofu<p>Today's bottle is quite unusual, not just because it's ceramic. It's a 100% Gewurtzraminer orange wine from Bulgaria: 2021 Rossidi Nikolaevo.</p><p>On the nose it's quite aromatic, with orange peel and spiced marmalade. On the palate it gives orage peel again, stone fruit, surprising minerality reminiscent of sea water, tea-like tannins and a long, pleasant, if a bit sweet aftertaste. tofu<p>These start to feel like shouting into a void, but here's a spectacular Gewurztraminer, Pinot gris and Pinot Noir (among others) orange wine from Alsace (it's more amber and less pink irl): Les Vins Pirouettes Qvevri de Stéphane 2020. Went to yet another casual wine tasting during long holidays (pretty sure my liver hates me now), and this was the highlight of the evening for me.
Really dry and unusual orange wine from Slovenia. The tannins in this one tasted almost like catechins in green tea! Lots of minerality too.
Bought a bottle on the spot to ejoy it again at home, and now I want to try other wines from this winery too - seems they have a pretty highly rated red...
