It is not a famous target, so it is not often photographed, and there is not much information about it. It's close to the Rosette Nebula so you can find it in the Monoceros constellation. I find it to be very cool. Don't ya?

I decided to change the color composition on this one a bit. Yellow hues (which should be redder) come from the light emission of sulfur, while the redder hues correspond to ionized hydrogen, and the blues (always the blues) are emitted by oxygen. To me, this nebula resembles a bonfire, but I assume that it is pretty hotter. Believe it or not, I was able to capture this from my rooftop in Mexico City, which has all kinds of pollution that you can imagine. I am not complaining; I am used to working in these harsh conditions, that's all.

Most of the fun in astrophotography is finding something new or, at least, not so common. Behold M41, as you might not have seen it before this way.

Tons of ionized hydrogen, seen in this picture in red hues, accompany this open cluster in Canis Major, about 4 degrees south of mighty Sirius. This cluster features stars of all sizes and temperatures, thus providing a colorful scenery. If you zoom in, you can find hundreds of smaller stars that populate the whole picture. The latter look small either because they are indeed small, or just because they’re much further away from us.

Before I collected the last data of the Elephant's Trunk this month, I slewed to the Ring Nebula before it got fully dark out and imaged it for 17 minutes with the L-eNhance filter. It was considerably smaller than I thought it was going to be at 700mm of focal length, but BlurXTerminator and the 1.1"/pixel resolution came in clutch and allowed me to crop the image substantially to reveal the Ring up close.

34x30s lights (17 minutes), flats, biases stacked and edited in PixInsight.

I found the “sister” of M33. Her name, NGC2403. They are pretty much alike. Have more or less the same size, shape, and they both feature a very big nebula: NGC604 in M33 and NGC2404 in the sister galaxy. Though, they got mad of each other, and now they are millions of l-y appart.

A spiral galaxy, spotted with pink blobs here and there, has a bright and tight core in its center. The arms of the galaxy expand and fade away into the vacuum of space. Although of majestic aspect, it’s only half the size of our own galaxy.

There are mighty rivals for the famous Pillars of Creation in the Eagle Nebula, like these, located in the not so famous SH2 284 nebula. You can find these in the Unicorn.

An explosion of colorful clouds, layered in reddish, yellow, green and blue shades, stained with dark clouds that give the object character and depth. Many distant stars sparkle the whole picture.

Together with two members of our #Astronomy club, COMETA, decided to take a picture in collaboration of this reflection nebula, NGC 2170, in the constellation Monoceros. This is a faint, dusty, but colorful place in our galaxy! Thanks, Ramón and Javier! Great job!

Known as the Angel Nebula, this deep sky object features a combination of reflection nebulae, similar of what we see in the Pleiades, but with red, orange and blue hues, surrounded by what appears to be thick clouds of dust that vary from brown to reddish in color. We took this picture during two nights of a weekend from a Bortle 4 place located in Pathecito, Hidalgo, Mexico. This is about 25 hours of total integration. Three different telescopes were used to gather all this data.

Phew! My gosh! This has been the faintest narrowband deep sky object I’ve ever taken so far. SH2-224 is a SN remnant in the constellation of Auriga. Beautiful thing indeed!
