Pangupterus liui was a mysterious #pterosaur that lived in the early Cretaceous of China!
The holotype #fossil only has the long and thin bottom jaw along with most of the teeth!

I’ve reconstructed it here as a gallodactylid pterosaur because from what I can tell, the jaw and teeth look most similar to #pterosaurs like these!

Cycnorhamphus suevicus easily owned one of the weirdest sets of #pterosaur jaws!

It’s been interpreted to be durophagous, or specialized to eat hard stuff, but it’s also been suggested to be a filter feeder, a parasite cleaning specialist, and, most interestingly in my opinion, a #jellyfish specialist!

Sinomacrops bondei was an #anurognathid #pterosaur from China!

The only described specimen is crushed, but the head is preserved mostly on its side, which is normal for most #pterosaurs, but very rare in anurognathids!

You might have also noticed the long tail!
#Anurognathids usually had short, nubby tails, but #Sinomacrops is special for being one of the few that has a much longer tail!

NEW PTEROSAUR!

Melkamter pateko was an early #monofenestratan pterosaur from the Chubut Province of Argentina! The holotype includes part of the #skull, a couple teeth, a few vertebrae, a metacarpal from one of the free fingers, and “other bone fragments”.

NEW PTEROSAUR!

#Nipponopterus mifunensis is the first ever #pterosaur named from Japan! It’s based on a single, partial neck vertebra that was found to be distinct enough to name a new genus and species!!

I was too sick to make and post art these last two weeks, so any interactions to help me get back on my feet would be insanely helpful and immensely appreciated!!
