As Wesel (Lower Rhine) was heavily destroyed in the Second World War, not many historic buildings remain; one is the Berliner Tor, which was part of the once strong town fortifications. It was built between 1718 and 1722 and obviously also had a representative function.
Today it houses a small exhibition on the city's history.
