On a much better note however... This Vectrex arrived!

My son very much approves.

This unit works generally very well, although the sound is a bit crackly. I've ordered a debuzz kit to hopefully fix it, but it may just need a new speaker or the pot needs cleaned.

I had to source a replacement potentiometer for a Vectrex' brightness knob. I found this one on Newark (link below), though I had to extend the leads to align with the hole in the shell then Dremel down the handle a bit so it didn't protrude too far, but it's working perfectly!

And plastic housing means there's no risk of it shorting against the flyback shielding!

Holy crap. There was almost an expansion for the #Vectrex to convert it into a full PC?!

You know, it'd be a hell of a project to expand one of the existing Vectrex emulators to support these stats.

If the supposed titles could be unearthed, it could be faithful.

If not, even just coming up with a bespoke implementation with these stated stats would be fun as hell.

They call it VecShelf, I call it Shelftrex. That's a thing, seemingly. It's basically a small piece of wood you put onto your Vectrex to but other stuff on top. Well, lightweight things, of course, not a Trinitron CRT or anything like that. Stumbled over it on the electronic bay and the description made me smile. Let me paraphrase: This is pretty unnecessary. You don't need this. Your life will not get better when you buy this. Well, somehow I disagree ... but nah, I won't buy it. And you should not as well. But take a look anyways:

Also the cover is really a screenshot of Berzerk on the Vectrex. You know the Vectrex right? the coolest console ever.

I want a home programmable vector display. Do they exist?

The text at the bottom I added, of course. I used a Commodore PET font, which isn't really consistent, but I think I made it look pretty decent.
