@harriettmb I think it is time that both governments prepare for what we know is coming down the tracks. There can't be a repeat of Brexit & it's pie in the sky thinking which led many to vote for something that wasn't real.
I find it hypocritical of #FF & #FG not to want to share power with #SinnFein in the South but shout for it to happen in the North. However after the next Irish election, I doubt they will have to worry about that. If #sinnfein win I would expect
@harriettmb a very different change in attitude towards reunification. The British Government will have a very different looking Taoiseach to deal with. I am looking forward to seeing that if I am honest. Also, how the #DUP handle it.
If Stormont is still moth-balled by then, watch the #DUP to start screaming for it to be brought back. So they can have a say with the British Government. They couldn't cope with Sinn Féin bring the only NI voice being heard at WM. After the Windsor
@harriettmb Framework vote, #DUP can't claim to have any influence over the government, they obviously don't. So Jeff's decision in the next few months could have a profound effect on what happens next. He may just bottle it, like he did whe he left the #UUP over #GFA25 He will resign as leader, run back to HoC in hope his seat in the Lords appears.
As for what a new Ireland - Ireland's Future is definitely the right starting point to be built on.
