#StarTrek 46 (1968) - 10/10
A Private Little War, teleplay by #GeneRoddenberry.
One of the most exciting episodes. The action is non-stop. Spock is shot early on and sits out the rest of the story. Then Kirk is attacked by a creature and nearly dies. Near the end, McCoy is wounded in a gun battle. And there are several similar battles throughout. It's a crazy amount of violence for one hour of TV.
It's also one of the most thoughtful episodes. And among the bleakest.
It really doubles down on the idea of the Prime Directive and the rules that these Starfleet people live by. But it all goes pear-shaped in this adventure, and we end on a sour note.
Great guest characters, too. Complex, interesting people.
Guest star #NancyKovack is gorgeous and is given a fun character to play.
First appearance of #BookerBradshaw as Dr. M'Benga.
Some great Spock-Chapel moments in this one.
