Research on #coffee and type 2 diabetes:
Coffee Consumption, Additive Use, and Risk of Type 2 Diabetes....in American Journal of Clinical Nutrition 3/2025
(HT @clive )
"sugar or artificial sweetener significantly attenuates the magnitude of the inverse association between higher coffee consumption and T2D risk, whereas the use of cream do not alter the inverse association."
I was *very excited* to read that lol
@clive It jumped out at me! Also interesting--the research on honey extending life of probiotics in yogurt.
@mtechman guess it's good that I can't drink too much coffee without hurting my digestive system, then, because I like it best with sugar
@kinsale42 I love it with milk and sugar, but I'm going to try skipping the sugar a few days a week. I have a huge cup after lunch.
@mtechman every now and then I swap to tea for a bit, and I use less cream and sugar in tea, maybe I'll do that more frequently
(it is less upsetting to my tummy, at the very least)
