#Datensicherheit in der #Politik - wenn die #Dropbox immer noch der Goldstandard ist: Schon die gescheiterte #NIS2-Umsetzung hat im vergangenen Jahr gezeigt, dass das Thema #Cybersecurity definitiv noch nicht nicht überall in der Politik angelangt ist. Nun wurden im Rahmen einer Recherche über 500 Darknet-Datenleaks von Politiker:innen festgestellt - u.a. für Dropbox. In einem Fall konnten gar 14 Passwörter im Klartext einer Einzelperson zugeordnet werden:

Das war meine erste Cloud und ich hatte viele sehr alte Dokumente, Bilder usw dort drinnen. Das war auch eine gute Gelegenheit alte "Datei-Leichen" durchzugehen. Vieles hatte ich nämlich bereits vergessen, das meiste konnte aber eh weg - manches hab ich aber auch gern ins neue Zuhause rüberkopiert.
Als Löschgrund hab ich übrigens #BuyFromEU angegeben.
Do I have any friends on here using Sync (i.e., sync.com, the Canadian Dropbox alternative) who can tell me about how well it works? In any case, I think I’ll sign up for a free plan and see how it goes. I’d love to get off #Dropbox.

One of the features I really like that differentiates Sync from OneDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox is their use of "zero-knowledge" authentication: they don't store your encryption key and cannot decrypt your files without your knowledge.
This policy does add some processing overhead. Years ago, I sometimes found file synchronization slow. But these days, I find it works transparently in the background as it should.

The group employs various versions of the Sagerunex backdoor, including new variants that use cloud services like Dropbox, Twitter, and Zimbra for command and control. Lotus Blossom utilizes multiple hacking tools and techniques to maintain long-term persistence in compromised networks. The attacks involve multi-stage operations, including reconnaissance, lateral movement, and data exfiltration. The group has been active since at least 2012 and continues to evolve its tactics and malware to evade detection.

Ich befreie mich gerade von Dropbox und kopiere meine Daten auf eine heute geklickte Nextcloud.
Die Apps funktionieren auch sehr zuverlässig, was ich bis jetzt sehen konnte.

Sync von 2Do-App via Aufgaben in #Nextcloud? Läuft das gut? Hab mich. nie getraut den empfohlenen Weg vom Entwickler zu ändern.
Ich hänge mit 2Do noch an Drobox und will letzteres eigentlich loswerden.
Nutze #dropbox noch als Scanziel bei #Scansnap. Hab mich da bisher nie kümmern wollen weil es halt lief. Aber vielleicht lassen sich hier auch andere Clouddienste einbinden. Danke für deine Anregungen

Vorhin Gespräch mit einem Nachbarn, der zZt noch die #Dropbox nutzt, aber nun auf ein europäisches System umstellen möchte. Eine eigene #NextCloud-Installation ist ihm zu aufwändig. Ich habe ihn einerseits - da er #Telekom-Kunde ist - auf die #MagentaCloud hingewiesen, die als Nextcloud-Derivat bei der Telekom zur Verfügung steht, und andererseits auf die #pCloud. Er will das nun ausprobieren und sich dann entscheiden.
Hättet ihr noch andere Ideen für einen Single-Privatnutzer?

ClearFake’s New Widespread Variant: Increased Web3 Exploitation for Malware Delivery
ClearFake is a malicious JavaScript framework deployed on compromised websites to deliver malware through drive-by downloads. Threat Actors compromise legitimate websites, injecting malicious JavaScript code that redirects users to convincing fake update pages for browsers like Chrome and Edge. These pages prompt users to download updates hosted on platforms such as Dropbox and OneDrive, which actually contain malware payloads. Notably, since late September, ClearFake has altered its code injection tactics, now utilizing smart contracts from the Binance Smart Chain.
