“Adriatic Coast, Dubrovnik” — dubrovnik, Croatia and its famous wall on the Adriatic coast, see from Fort Lovrijenac.

During the summer of 2023 we went on a very long trip in Europe. Over a 10-week period we were in France, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Kosovo, and Croatia — with very brief visits/transits in Germany, Hungary, Serbia, Albania, and Montenegro. Many of the photographs from the trip sat in my raw file archive since then, never being worked up into final versions. (I suspect that in some cases I didn’t quite “see” them at first, and in some I moved on to other projects, intending to return.) Dubrovnik Cathedral also know as The Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. Dubrovnik, Croatia 2103

"Katedrala Velike Gospe, Katedrala Marijina Uznesenja) is a Roman Catholic cathedral in Dubrovnik, Croatia. It is the seat of the Diocese of Dubrovnik.

The cathedral was built on the site of several former cathedrals, including 7th, 10th and 11th century buildings, and their 12th century successor in the Romanesque style. The money to build the basilica was partially contributed by the English king Richard the Lion Heart, as a votive for having survived a shipwreck near the island of Lokrum in 1192 on his return from the Third Crusade." --- Wikipedia

On the way to #Dubrovnik we stopped for lunch at this amazing restaurant called Kapetanova kuća which is supposed to be the best one located at Mali Ston, Croatia.

Mali Ston is well-known for their oysters.

"Mali Ston (which means Little Ston) is a village in Croatia on the Pelješac peninsula approximately one kilometer northeast of its larger sister village, Ston.

It's linked to Ston by the Walls of Ston and is less than an hour northwest of Dubrovnik via the D414 highway. With its location on the Bay of Mali Ston, the village is well known for oyster production.

Mali Ston is known for its excellent seafood, primarily sea shell cuisine." --- Wikepedia

Some pix from my recent travels…this time, #Dubrovnik in #Croatia. Did a “highlights” tour which turned out to involve walking the top of the entire ancient undulating wall around the beautiful Old Town. By the end of the tour, my apple watch said I had climbed *24 flights of stairs!*
