But you wouldn’t have known it from hearing Trump wind his way through nearly a hundred minutes of mostly standard-issue Fox News culture-war talking points & alpha-male American exceptionalism.

There’s no doubt that #Trump, in just 6 weeks, has compiled a most unusual list of accomplishments to boast about—much of it a result of allowing the world’s richest man to take a chainsaw to the federal govt, cutting hundreds of thousands of federal jobs & unilaterally shutting down federal programs & contracts worth billions of dollars in defiance of #Congress.

But it was also familiar, #Trump’s by-now-standard mix of braggadocio & self-pity, partisan bile & patently absurd lies. It turns out that even the most #unhinged of Presidential speeches can seem kind of boring if it goes on long enough.

…#ElonMusk’s attacks carry a new #power since #Trump has taken office, Calo said. #Musk is a special government employee, & his #DOGE team has access to sensitive private data. As the owner of X, he can choose what content is allowed.

The first quarter of the hour-long conversation focused on Trump’s brush w/death as a divine miracle, which was a major theme of the #RNC in Milwaukee just days after the attack. “It has to be God,” Trump said…about surviving the shooting. He went on to claim that…[it] could’ve ended up like the 2017 massacre in Las Vegas, where hundreds of people were gunned down.
