Town Hall, Ciechanów, Poland

Ciechanów Town Hall is a neo-gothic building. It is located on the north side of the market. It was built in 1844 according to the design of the Italian architect Henryk Marconi (1792-1863). It was built of brick, on a rectangular plan, with a four-sided tower on the façade axis. The corners of the building are framed by polygonal pillars. Ogival windows. A cornice under the eaves made of suspended neo-gothic arcades, which at the same time forms the capitals of the pillars. The hipped roof is covered with sheet metal. The building is two-story, with a basement. It has a newer extension at the back.

In the panorama of the town, the Town Hall is a beautiful architectural accent, distinguished by its lightness and specific charm. To this day, it is the seat of the municipal authorities.

Budapeszt.

Budapest. A beautiful city with remarkable architecture. Most of the buildings were built in Neoclassical (Neo-Romanesque, Neo-Gothic, Neo-Renaissance, Neo-Baroque, Neoclassicism), Rococo styles. You can also find modern architecture of the 20th century.

What I don't like is the fact that the buildings destroyed during World War I were rebuilt using non-original building materials, such as concrete. One building was built with bricks when its predecessor was built with stone. Such actions should be banned **in the reconstruction** of historical buildings. Orban can do anything along with the Fidesz majority.

Another fact is the reconstruction of already existing buildings in Hungary's millennium year. Apparently, the Hungarians have it in their blood to modify already historic buildings. Orginal matter has not survived to this day. The fact is that most of these buildings are still used today.

The Oxford University Museum of Natural History is today's #MidweekMuseum and it's a place worth seeing for the building itself as much as the exhibits. It's a great example of Victorian Neo-Gothic design in iron and glass. There are some lovely pieces to see in the museum, of course, but we took most joy in being allowed to touch the 4.5 billion years old Nantan iron meteorite.
