Toucan update. We originally thought these two were Black Mandibled Toucans, which are the most common type around here. But as their feathers started coming in, it became obvious they are something else. We're thinking they're some kind of Collared Aracari, but their marking and eye color combination don't match up with any description we've yet to read.
They're starting to take flight, and have fun following us around the outside areas of the house.
An update on the #toucans - Pacheco and Cara Floja (I had nothing to do with naming them ) have made their first flight! They're more assertively starting to explore their world.
In this video - which is of their first time successfully perching outside of their box - you can appreciate their intelligent observation skills as they take in their surroundings from a new perspective.
