Just got a call from #eir asking if we’d like to upgrade to fibre to the home installation offer. An engineer comes out. Sounds like a bit of work. Went through the options and agreed to try it. Asked what if we decided not to, could we get a better deal on our current bundle which is more pricey than the offer. Oh no. So we’re kind of forced into an upgrade economically! #obsolescence #capitalism
@lucyweirphd Fibre is magic though, so fast. It’s installed by a consortium so you can quite easily switch once you have it and your contract is up. Personally I recommend Pure Telecom. They have good customer service.

@lucyweirphd I was with Virgin Media before. I was so upset with their customer support when I tried to leave that I put it off. But then I discovered that I could cancel in writing. And that they had a cancellation form online that they had forgotten about but which was visible to search engines. They removed it after I used it.
