#NoFaultEvictions

This story shows why the UK needs more social housing and tighter regulation of private rented accommodation.

I'm glad Labour is ending no-fault evictions, but the long term goal must be to reshape housing policy so that individuals and families are no longer forced into dependency on private landlords.

"Landlords will soon be banned from removing tenants without cause as the government prepares to launch a long-delayed package of measures for renters including stopping no-fault evictions within months."

The Guardian · Labour moves to end no-fault evictions within monthsBy Kiran Stacey

After a 4 year delay, the #Tories promised end to #nofaultevictions will now enter the legislative process before the end of the year.

Anyone thinking #RishiSunak is casting about for policies that might make him look more in touch with #voters concerns is likely right.

His problem will be whether he can get people to ignore 15 years of chaos & the #housingcrisis with one bit of (very welcome) legal change.

Q. is: will the right wing (landlord) press will get behind it as an electoral issue?
