He made it home. After 11 hours drive time and a round trip of 958 km, we made it. Peacefully passed out pooch - off to a good start.

Everyone who works to rehab, retrain, or provide care to animals and those that work with them, you do vital work. Pets make good people. Good pets make better people.

And if there's one thing we could use right now, it's better humans.

My partner and I decided to get a dog. She wanted a purebred Golden Retriever, I wanted a shelter mutt. I ran across this handsome black mutt at a shelter a couple hours away. Shelter claimed he was a Golden/Labrador Retriever. Perfect, sold. DNA test came back showing him at 48% Great Pyrenees, then 15 other breeds on the other half (including Golden/Lab!). Anyway, he’s fucking massive (28” at the shoulder at 10 months) and gentle and snuggly and goofy and well behaved and the best dog ever. Johnny Cash. 10 months, 70 pounds, omg please stop growing. #shelterdogs
