Fast food, slow food style: I made up about 3 pints of beet slaw this afternoon.

The local farm share has wonderful beets this year, and one of my favorite ways to eat them is in a slaw: peeled and shredded, with thin-sliced onions, in Italian dressing with a little extra vinegar, sugar, salt and pepper.

They keep for about two weeks in the refrigerator, and make a really easy side dish with lunches and dinners.

Traveled to an orchard market a week or so ago to buy fresh, locally grown peaches. I can't remember the name of the variety, but they are white-fleshed and freestone. And they are delicious, both fresh and in peach pie (which I am having for breakfast this morning).

Précisions : c’était une Amap très spécialisée (légumes + option œufs/quinzaine), où l’on ne voyait jamais personne (cagettes posées dehors en haut d’un escalier derrière la MPT).
Pas mal de ratés, pas top.

Long starfruit season. I can pace myself. I like it like that. I wasn't able to go pick any for over a week, I was worried they would split from all the rain or be pau. Nope. Plenty still. Prob at least another month of starfruit ripening.
