I've noticed lately that Duckduckgo had started shoving it's A.I. search results into my searches. A quick hunt around & I've found that you can switch it off by using this link or adding these 2 parameters to your searches...

I know some out there aren't fans of AI, but I have a bit of an counterarguement for you. When you're blind like me, having AI tools that allow you to do certain tasks independently is a game changer. Getting image descriptions, being able to check if what you're wearing looks good on you and identifying everything from doors to furniture + everyday objects is useful. Doubly so when like me, you live alone and don't exactly have someone around to ask for help from. Using AI for tasks like this is reasonable in my opinion, but some other things surrounding AI do have me concerned. All I ask of anti-AI protesters is think about what context AI is being used in before completely condemming it. #A11Y #Accessibility #Blind #StopAI #AIProtests

I feel like this is such an obvious conclusion, and is a key reason I never use AI to do my job (or anything else for that matter). But it’s nice that there’s official research to confirm it, bonus points that one of the biggest backers of AI in the world helped conduct it.

Ok folks we need a serious discussion around #AI, #licenses and #scraping...

I really invite anyone has a powerful echo-chamber to step out and take action.

Subjects as for instance #CreativeCommons folks, #lawmakers if are in the #fediverse and anyone else has the right leverages.

A couple of days ago a person pointed out that you can fill a form to avoid to be ingested by #openAI; this doesn't make sense and it is unfair.

Any #AI #scrapers must comply with the rules of any other scrapers and if there are not rules at all perhaps we had better to create a rule that say: "No AI allowed here!".

But this is not enough we need to reconsider all the Creative Commons licenses and all of the variations must be coupled with NO-AI allowed, or implying (redefine though) that are NO-AI by default and AI are allowed to ingest them when this licenses say YES-AI...

When I release my content #CC0 is meant for other human-being, I never thought nor wanted to be available for non-human interaction, I do what I do for other people and this must be respected.

The same principles might be applied to software code, although coding is not my expertise, but I'd like to have the #freedom to say I don't want my code ingested by a non-human being.

Please stop to transform the World Wide Web into the Word Wild Web, thanks.
